XENOM Introduces the Elite Performance Index

XENOM has released more details on how its competition will be scored, building on its previously announced format for the Decathlon of Fitness. If you missed the initial announcement, you can read our full breakdown here.

The latest update introduces the Elite Performance Index, or EPI.

The EPI is a points-based system designed to measure performance across all 10 XENOM events and create a global ranking for athletes.

What Is the EPI

The EPI combines your scores from all 10 events into one total number.

Each event is based on an “elite” benchmark worth 1,000 points. Your performance is measured against that benchmark, and you can score more than 1,000 if you exceed it.

Instead of ranking athletes by placement, the EPI focuses on actual output. How fast you move, how much you lift, and how many reps you complete all translate directly into points.

How It Works

Each event uses a scoring curve.

Some events increase points steadily with performance. Others reward higher levels of output more heavily, meaning you earn more points as you reach the top end.

Your total EPI score is the sum of all 10 events.

What Your Score Means

XENOM has outlined general score ranges:

0 to 2,000: Novice
2,000 to 3,500: Intermediate
3,501 to 5,000: RX
5,001 to 7,000: RX+
7,000 and above: Elite

Each division, age group, and format has its own leaderboard.

Why It Matters

The EPI is designed to reward well-rounded performance across all events.

Strong results in one area will not fully make up for weaknesses in another, which puts more emphasis on consistency across the full competition.

XENOM has also launched an online tool where athletes can enter predicted scores to estimate their EPI and compare themselves to others before competing.

The system will be used for the first time at XENOM’s debut event in Dallas on June 27 and 28.
