A flooring supplier says The Hybrid Games owes £25,000 for services provided at multiple 2025 events and that the custom-cut flooring supplied for those events has not been returned despite non-payment.
Roy Bird, who works with Event Flooring Solutions, told Hybrid Fitness Media his company supplied flooring for The Hybrid Games events at Olympia London in November, Glasgow in September, and Newcastle in August 2025. While the company was paid for initial events, Bird said he remains unpaid for the final two events and that the flooring remains in the possession of The Hybrid Games.
Event Flooring Solutions operates under the brand EFS Europe, which previously published a case study describing its work supplying flooring for the first Hybrid Games event in Liverpool in June 2025.
Bird said his company was paid for the first events it worked with the organization but remains unpaid for the final two.
“We are owed £25,000 from several events and Dale Walker keeps stalling on the back of a supposed third party getting involved with Hybrid and providing a cash injection as an investment,” Bird wrote in a public comment on Hybrid Fitness Media’s coverage.
“We suspect that is just a story weaved to buy time.”
Bird confirmed in a subsequent interview that all invoices were issued to Walker James Limited, the company that filed a Notice of Intention to Enter Administration on March 4, 2026, declaring it was unable to pay its liabilities as they fall due according to public filings.
Debt Recovery Firm Hired
Bird said his company has now hired a debt recovery firm to pursue the outstanding invoices.
“We’ve got a debt recovery company working on it now,” he said.
Bird said his last contact with Hybrid Games founder Dale Walker was approximately two to three weeks ago.
“It would have been two or three weeks ago, then never heard from him again,” Bird said.
Bird said that during the course of their business relationship, Walker would sometimes react defensively when pressed about payment.
“He got quite uppity,” Bird said.
According to Bird, Walker would later call back and apologize, something Bird said became a recurring pattern during their dealings. Communication eventually stopped entirely.
Pattern of Delayed and Unpaid Vendors
The Event Flooring Solutions claim follows a pattern of vendor payment disputes previously reported by Hybrid Fitness Media dating back to July 2025.
An audio and visual production company previously reported being owed more than £13,000 for services provided at the Newcastle event in August 2025. The vendor said that after Walker James Limited filed for insolvency they believed they would not be able to recover the debt.
Allen Transport obtained a County Court Judgment against Walker James Limited in December 2025 for £15,674 in unpaid haulage services connected to the Glasgow event in September 2025. Owner Peter Allen stated he had instructed bailiffs to pursue the debt and advised other companies against working with the organization.
An additional County Court Judgment for £912 from an unidentified creditor was also filed against Walker James Limited in January 2026.
Combined with the Event Flooring Solutions claim, total documented unpaid vendor invoices now exceed £54,000.
Three Companies in Eighteen Months
Companies House records show a pattern of corporate restructuring connected to The Hybrid Games events.
In January 2025, Dale Walker and Kieran Higgens incorporated The Hybrid Games Limited. That company was dissolved via voluntary strike-off on November 18, 2025.
Walker James Limited, incorporated in April 2022, operated The Hybrid Games events throughout 2025. This is the company that accumulated vendor debts and filed a Notice of Intention to Enter Administration on March 4, 2026.
On July 31, 2025, Dale Walker incorporated The Hybrid Games Events Limited with Hannah Elizabeth George listed as co-director. That company remains active.
Bird questioned where ticket revenue is flowing.
“Money is flowing into the business from ticket sales. The question is whether this is going into Hybrid Games Event Limited or Walker James Limited.”
Upcoming Events
The Hybrid Games currently has events scheduled for Northern Ireland on March 21 to 22, 2026, and Farnborough on April 11 to 12, 2026.
Bird suggested venues hosting upcoming events should clarify which corporate entity is responsible for paying vendors and suppliers.
Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre acknowledged an inquiry from Hybrid Fitness Media but said it could not disclose contractual information relating to its clients.
Hybrid Games continues to promote staffing and participation for upcoming events. On March 11, the organization posted on Instagram recruiting lead judges, advertising £250 per day, a free race ticket, and the option to race one day and judge the other. Earlier this season, the organization also promoted a £50,000 prize purse for its competitions.

Hybrid Fitness Media contacted organizers of The Hybrid Games for comment but has not received a response. The organization has also blocked Hybrid Fitness Media on Instagram.
