HYROX Shanghai, scheduled for October 31–November 1, 2026, has been postponed because of “an unforeseen venue arrangement issue,” according to an announcement from HYROX China.

A new date has not been confirmed, but the event venue will remain unchanged.

Last year’s Shanghai event in May attracted just under 3,000 finishers, while September’s Beijing event had more than 11,000. The Beijing event made worldwide news, which you have certainly heard about by now.

HYROX China said it had spent the past two weeks exploring options to hold the event as scheduled. “Unfortunately, we could not secure a suitable alternative,” the announcement said. The organizing committee apologized to athletes and spectators for disrupting their plans.

All purchased athlete and spectator tickets will automatically transfer to the rescheduled event. No action is required from ticket holders at this time.

If the new date conflicts with their personal plans and they are unable to attend, ticket holders may apply for a full refund through HYROX China’s official mini-program or website. The announcement also lists “2026shevent@hyroxcn dot com” for additional refund requests. Specific arrangements for refund applications will be announced separately.

Athletes who keep their entry will receive two spectator-ticket redemption codes for HYROX events in mainland China. The codes will be valid through December 31, 2027, and may be used by the athlete or given to friends or relatives. HYROX China said the codes and redemption instructions will be sent to eligible athletes by text message and official email.

HYROX China has not announced when the new Shanghai event date will be confirmed.

HYROX Shanghai 2026 Event Postponement Announcement

Dear Registered Athletes and Spectators,

Greetings.

We sincerely appreciate your ongoing attention, support, and enthusiasm for the HYROX Shanghai event. With sincere regret, we formally announce that due to an unforeseen venue arrangement issue, the HYROX Shanghai event, originally scheduled for 31 October–1 November 2026, will be postponed. The venue remains unchanged. All purchased athlete tickets and spectator tickets will be automatically rolled over to the rescheduled HYROX Shanghai date. Participants who are unable to attend the future revised schedule may apply for a full refund. The new event date is not yet confirmed. Final event schedule and further updates will be released promptly via our official channels.

We fully recognize that athletes have dedicated tremendous effort to training and travel preparation, and that spectators have also arranged their schedules in advance. This unforeseen postponement has disrupted personal plans and incurred significant time-and-energy costs for all participants. Over the past two weeks, we have explored every possible avenue in an attempt to hold the event on its original date. Unfortunately, we could not secure a suitable alternative. We, the HYROX China Organizing Committee, extend our most sincere apologies to all athletes and spectators for the inconvenience caused.

To fully safeguard participants’ interests, mitigate inconvenience, and minimize travel- and schedule-related losses, the remedial measures and exclusive benefits for the postponed Shanghai event are set out below:

1. Automatic Roll-over of Athlete & Spectator Entitlements

If you have purchased an athlete ticket or spectator ticket, your existing entry will automatically remain valid for the postponed HYROX Shanghai event once its new date is confirmed. No action is required.

2. Full Refund Option

Should the subsequently announced new schedule of the postponed event conflict with your personal arrangements, making you unable to participate or spectate, holders of both athlete tickets and spectator tickets may submit an application for a full refund through our official mini-program or official website. You may contact our official customer-service team if you cannot complete the refund operation by yourself. Specific arrangements for refund applications will be announced separately.

3. Additional Refund Requests

4. Exclusive Postponement Benefit for Retained-Entry Athletes

To thank athletes for their understanding and support regarding this event adjustment, athletes who retain their entry for the postponed Shanghai event will receive an exclusive benefit: two complimentary mainland-China spectator-ticket redemption codes, valid for any HYROX event in mainland China until December 31, 2027. Codes may be used personally or given to friends and relatives.

Exclusive benefit codes, together with full terms and conditions and redemption instructions, will be distributed to eligible athletes via SMS and official email. Please monitor your inbox.
