Matt and Cheryl dig into the latest HYROX developments, starting with the new Elite 15 plum and black kits, why the color coding helps viewers, and the complications it creates for sponsors trying to match specific shades. They also discuss HYROX’s 24-hour response window for certain athlete communications and why roll down athletes are the ones most likely to get burned.
They unpack doubles roll downs, partner reshuffles, and why doubles remains harder to follow than singles, before examining the HYROX cruise, its heavy promotion, and residency fine print that raises obvious questions.
The episode also weaves through a spoiler-heavy Pluribus conversation and a broader discussion about trust, deposits and withdrawals, and why trying to “win” arguments usually backfires.

I think the doubles will become much easier to follow when the point system is implemented. I have an independent system (RoxRankings) and athletes are rewarded for how well they do at races based on how competitive those races are or if it’s worlds, a major or regionals. This kind of system will incentivize athletes picking a doubles partner for an entire season.. A lot of the ‘doubles specialists’ already do this and it will make following them more interesting.
