HYROX WASHINGTON DC | ELITE 15 DOUBLES
Dylan Scott and Stephen Pelkofer controlled the Men’s Elite 15 Doubles race from start to finish at HYROX Washington DC, crossing the line in 49:03.76 to claim the win by 47 seconds over Dawson Miller and Marcus Wallace. Jarrett Newby and Hayden Warner, affectionally known as Dr. Ruckenstein, held on for third in 50:17.39 after a tense back half of the race.
The field of 15 teams produced one of the deepest doubles heats of the season, with seven pairs finishing inside 52 minutes and the top eight separated by just over two and a half minutes.
How the Race Unfolded
Scott and Pelkofer were never seriously threatened after the opening stations. Newby and Warner briefly challenged through the SkiErg, edging the eventual winners by a single second at that checkpoint, but Scott and Pelkofer reasserted control on the Sled Push and steadily built their lead from there.
Miller and Wallace ran one of the most consistent races in the field. They locked into second position by the Sled Pull and held it all the way to the finish, never cracking under pressure from the teams chasing them. Their 49:50.84 was a strong mark in its own right, a performance that would have won many HYROX doubles fields this season.

The race for third was less settled. Newby and Warner were never far off the pace but faced pressure from the Canadian pair of Frédéric Dubé and Samuel Hébert through the second half. Dubé and Hébert had the speed to make it interesting but ran out of real estate, finishing fourth in 50:38.15, just 21 seconds behind Newby and Warner.
The biggest fade of the day belonged to Isaac Sanderson and Austin Azar. The pair looked like a podium threat after a strong SkiErg, sitting inside the top three early before slipping to seventh by the finish in 51:25.81. Ryan Douglas and Jack Driscoll followed a similar trajectory, fading from a promising start to eighth in 51:41.52.
Cole Learn and Jay Muscart were the quiet story of the race. They appeared well down the field at the midpoint before climbing to fifth at the finish in 51:05.76, one of the stronger closing performances of the day.
