How the Elite 15 Qualification System Works For Regionals
Unlike the HYROX Majors, there are no automatic qualifiers for Regionals. For the Elite 15 Doubles race, HYROX ranks teams based on their fastest Elite Doubles race result from the previous 365 days. The cutoff date for D.C. was February 16, 2026.
Additional Regionals Distinction
To be considered for a Regional Championship, an athlete must hold a passport from that region. Qualification times may be earned at any HYROX race worldwide prior to the official cut-off date.
Athletes may only compete in the Regional Championship associated with their passport. Athletes holding dual passports must select one region and may only compete in that single Regional Championship.

Declined Time-Qualified Spots
The men’s doubles field saw extensive roll-down activity, largely driven by athletes appearing across multiple team combinations in the qualification rankings. Rich Ryan (rank 1 with Dylan Scott) is not racing in the doubles field. Entries involving repeated athlete pairings including Stephen Pelkofer & Keith Hardwick (10), Jack Driscoll & Jake Gibbs (11), Greyson Kilgore & Colin Stiefer (12), Colin Stiefer & Jack Driscoll (13), Will Grumke & Josh Ward (14), and Bret Gornik & Jason Loebig (15) all declined or were ineligible as standalone entries given their athletes are competing under different pairings in D.C.
Rank 3 belongs to Rylan Schadegg & Ryan Kent, who ran a 00:49:51 at Miami Beach in April 2025. Rylan passed away on September 7, 2025. Rest in peace.
As a result, the start list rolled down to rank 28 to complete the Elite 15 field.

How To Qualify for the World Championships from The HYROX Regionals
Unlike the Majors, where the top three men’s and women’s teams at each event qualify for the 2026 World Championships in Sweden, only 1st place at the Regional Championships will earn a Worlds spot. Roll-downs will apply if the winner has already secured qualification at a previous Major.
Dylan Scott and Stephen Pelkofer enter as the top seed, combining two of the fastest individual men in the Americas field. But with Ryan Douglas & Jack Driscoll, Dawson Miller & Marcus Wallace, and the Canadian pairing of Dubé & Hebert all capable of podium finishes, that single Worlds qualification spot is far from decided.
