HYROX Announces Hong Kong as Host of 2027 World Championships

HYROX has announced that the 2027 World Championships will take place June 10-13, in Hong Kong at AsiaWorld-Expo, marking the first time the event has been held in the Asia-Pacific region.

The announcement was made during the 2026 HYROX World Championships in Stockholm, Sweden.

Hong Kong’s selection follows the rapid growth of the sport in the region. HYROX’s first event in Hong Kong in 2022 recorded 764 finishers. Four years later, HYROX Hong Kong 2026 attracted more than 17,000 finishers over three days at AsiaWorld-Expo, making it one of the largest events on the global HYROX calendar.

The move continues HYROX’s geographic expansion. The World Championships were held in Germany for the first three editions before moving to the United States, United Kingdom, France, Sweden, and now Hong Kong.

Previous HYROX World Championship host cities include:

2019 – Oberhausen, Germany

2020 – Hamburg, Germany

2021 – Leipzig, Germany

2022 – Las Vegas, United States

2023 – Manchester, United Kingdom

2024 – Nice, France

2025 – Chicago, United States

2026 – Stockholm, Sweden

2027 – Hong Kong

Germany was believed to be under consideration for the 2027 event before Hong Kong was ultimately selected.

Additional details regarding qualification, scheduling, and event format are expected to be announced by HYROX in the coming months.
