Calypso Sheridan won the HYROX APAC Championships 2026 Elite 15 Women’s race in 1:00:33, pulling away late in a race that stayed tight through the first half. Gabrielle Nikora-Baker who recently qualified for the World Champss, and was the pre-race favorite, took second in 1:01:07, while Jess Pettrow finished third in 1:01:59.
Sheridan did her first HYROX back in 2022, but since then has been focusing mostly on OCR and Triathlon. In the last 6 months, she’s put more of a focus on HYROX. Back in October, she raced Elite 15 in Hamburg on a roll-down and finished 14th in 1:06:10.
In Brisbane, she took control on the sandbag lunges and never gave it back, turning what had been a secondary pursuit into a World Championship qualification.

How the Race Unfolded
The top three stayed together through the early stages, with minimal separation across SkiErg, sled push, and sled pull. Sheridan, Nikora-Baker, and Pettrow all posted nearly identical times through the first half, with no athlete able to break away early.
The race began to separate on the middle stations.
Nikora-Baker lost time on burpee broad jumps (3:45) compared to Sheridan (3:33) and Pettrow (3:24), allowing the front to start stretching slightly. That gap held through the row, where all three athletes remained within striking distance.

The decisive move came on the sandbag lunges.
Sheridan ran a 3:09, gaining time on both Nikora-Baker (3:18) and Pettrow (3:17). It wasn’t a massive swing, but it was enough to create separation heading into the final run and wall balls.
From there, Sheridan controlled the finish.
She entered wall balls first and maintained her lead, while Nikora-Baker and Pettrow followed, unable to close the gap. Pettrow, who had been in contact early, faded slightly across the second half and couldn’t match the pace of the top two.
Sheridan closed it out to take the win, with Nikora-Baker holding second and Pettrow finishing third as the field spread out late.
World Championship Qualification
Unlike the 4 HYROX Majors, the 3 Regional Championships only have one qualification spot. Calypso takes the 12th female spot for the World Champs in Sweden. The final 3 spots are up for grabs next week in Warsaw.
