HYROX Phoenix Major 2026: Elite 15 Men and Women Doubles Start List, Roll-Downs, and Qualification Breakdown

How the Elite 15 Qualification System Works

HYROX Phoenix marks the third Major of the 2025–2026 season for the Elite 15 Doubles competition, following Hamburg and Melbourne, with Warsaw still to come.

Elite Doubles operates under a different qualification model than Elite 15 Singles. In Singles, athletes qualify based on the average of their two fastest races from the previous 365 days, calculated against a Major-specific cutoff date. In Doubles, teams only need to race once to be eligible, and there are no automatic qualifiers carried over from previous-season Majors or World Championships..

Because Elite Doubles allows only one entry per athlete at each Major, team combinations vary widely across the season. As a result, roll-downs in the men’s field extended significantly beyond the initial cutoff.

For Phoenix, the final team to accept an Elite 15 position was Graham Halliday and Jonathon Wynn, who held the 28th-fastest qualifying time.

How To Qualify for the World Championships from The HYROX Majors

The top three men’s and top three women’s doubles teams at each Major qualify for the 2026 World Championships in Sweden. Roll-downs apply when a team has already secured qualification at a previous Major.

The following three men’s teams qualified for the Elite 15 from the Hamburg Major: Alexander Roncevic and Tim Wenisch (1st), Jake Williamson and Alen Ploj (2nd), and James Kelly and Jake Dearden (3rd).

The following three men’s teams qualified from the Melbourne Major: Charlie Botterill and Ollie Russell (2nd), Pieter Maes and Tom Franssens (4th), and Jeremy McConnell and Fabian Eisenlauer (6th).

James Kelly and Jake Dearden, Pieter Maes and Tom Franssens, and Jeremy McConnell and Fabian Eisenlauer are all already World Championship–qualified and racing together in Phoenix. As a result, World Championship qualification roll-downs on the men’s side can extend as far as sixth place, depending on results.

Elite 15 Women’s Doubles Athletes for Phoenix.

As with the men, athlete overlap across team combinations led to an extended roll-down process in the women’s doubles field. Because each athlete can only compete once per Major, available pairings narrowed quickly as invitations were accepted.

For Phoenix, the final team to accept an Elite 15 position was Kris Rugloski and Kayti Simonson, who held the 55th-fastest qualifying time. HYROX was unable to fill the full Elite 15 women’s doubles field.

1. Lauren Weeks, Vivian Tafuto

How To Qualify for the World Championships from The HYROX Majors

The top three women’s doubles teams at each Major qualify for the 2026 World Championships in Sweden. Roll-downs apply when a team has already secured qualification at a previous Major.

The following three women’s teams qualified for the Elite 15 from the Hamburg Major: Lauren Griffith and Lauren Weeks (1st), Jess Pettrow and Joanna Wietrzyk (2nd), and Gabriella Moriarty and Zara Piergianni (3rd).

The following three women’s teams qualified from the Melbourne Major: Sinéad Bent and Lucy Procter (2nd), Danél Louw and Vicky MacIntosh (3rd), and Mollie Emond and Meg Martin (4th).

Out of all previously qualified women’s teams, only two are racing together in Phoenix: Joanna Wietrzyk and Jess Pettrow, and Danél Louw and Vicky MacIntosh. As a result, World Championship qualification roll-downs on the women’s side can extend as far as fifth place, depending on results.
