How Prize Money Works at HYROX Majors

HYROX increased the Major payouts this season. Every Elite 15 athlete from first place through fifteenth place receives prize money. This structure is in place for Melbourne.

2025/26 HYROX Majors Prize Money

1st place – $15,000
2nd place – $9,600
3rd place – $6,000
4th place – $4,800
5th place – $4,200
6th place – $3,600
7th place – $3,000
8th place – $2,700
9th place – $2,400
10th place – $2,100
11th place – $1,800
12th place – $1,500
13th place – $1,200
14th place – $900
15th place – $900

Total payout per gender is $59,700.
Total payout for each Major is $119,400.

Improvements for the 2025 and 2026 Season

This is a meaningful bump for every athlete in Melbourne, not just the podium. In the 2024/2025 Season, the Major payouts were:

6th place – $2,000
7th place – $1,500
8th place – $1,000

What This Means for Athletes Racing in Melbourne

Because the roll downs went so deep for both men and women, several athletes are lining up for their first ever Major. With the increased payouts this season, even mid-pack finishes now matter. Ninth through fifteenth now earn real prize money, compared to last season when those same places received only five hundred to seven hundred fifty dollars.

Several athletes who entered through roll downs are in legitimate contention to take home prize money for the first time.

Season Total for HYROX Majors

There are four Majors in the 2025/2026 season: Hamburg, Melbourne, Phoenix, and Warsaw.

Across those four events, the total payout is $477,600.

The season will end with the World Championships, which adds another large prize pool. This will be the highest paying season in HYROX history.
