Examining Cerus Fitness’ Growth and Investment Plans: Expectations vs. Reality.

In January 2023, We conducted an interview with Chris Johnson, CEO from Cerus Fitness, a gym in Frederick Coloardo. At that time, he shared that the company was experiencing a growth rate of gym members of 200% year over year. He also mentioned plans to open up to several new locations within the following year.

In May 2023, we reached out to Cerus Fitness to inquire about updates on these new locations. The response from the company was optimistic: “We are hoping to announce plans for 3 more this summer.”

In January 2024, we contacted Cerus Fitness again to follow up on the new location developments. Chris indicated that an announcement could be expected in the next 3 to 4 weeks, with potential locations in Colorado including Loveland, Windsor, Broomfield, and North Denver.

Additionally, Chris discussed the DEKA Road show, set to occur in May, which was possibly going to be broadcast on Pay Per View as part of a production deal with Blue Sport Stable, the venue hosting the event.

He also highlighted the success of their main series, Cerus Brix, noting a continued growth of 200% year over year. Chris anticipated $10,000 in cash prizes from their championship event this year. However, the actual payouts totaled only $1,650, distributed as $500 for first place, $250 for second place, and $150 for third place for both men and women. (It can be noted that the previous year’s prize pool was double that).

Further attempts to contact Cerus Fitness for updates were made on April 13 and August 28 of this year, but we did not receive any response to our inquiries.

Today, Chris Johnson, CEO of Cerus, announced a significant new venture: the launch of a public crowdfunding campaign, stating Cerus as the first in the fitness and wellness industry to engage in such fundraising. This initiative allows individuals to invest small amounts and own shares in the company, thereby participating in its expansion and benefiting from its growth. Chris expressed his enthusiasm for this milestone, highlighting it as an opportunity for those who believe in the company’s mission to contribute and potentially benefit from its continued success. Their is a link on the company’s linktree, which points to a prospectus for investment.

Despite initial statements from Cerus Fitness, the anticipated expansions and financial projections have not materialized as previously described. In an early conversation in January 2023, the CEO, Chris, mentioned plans to open several new locations within that year. By May 2023, the statement was adjusted to “We are looking to open up 3 more this summer.” However, as of January 2024, the only update provided was the possibility of opening one new location in the next 3 to 4 weeks. As of today, there is still only one location.

Additionally, Chris initially projected that $10,000 would be awarded in cash prizes at their championship event, but the actual amount distributed was only $1,650. These discrepancies highlight a significant variance between the company’s communicated expectations and the actual developments.

From the information available, it appears that Cerus Fitness consistently delivers quality events, employs competent trainers, and fosters a supportive community environment. However, potential investors might approach the company’s crowdfunding initiatives with caution, given the discrepancies between past projections and actual outcomes.
