5 CrossFit Women We’d Like To See At HYROX

A couple of months ago, we wrote about 5 CrossFit Men we wanted to see at HYROX. Somehow, our women’s article got delayed. We believe it was hiding under some sandbags, but here it is in its entirety:

There has been a significant crossover between CrossFit and HYROX at the highest level. 2013 CrossFit Games champion Sam Briggs was a wildcard invite to the 2020 Elite 12 where she competed against current World Champ Lauren Weeks.  Lauren also has significant CrossFit experience herself.  She has finished as high as 144th Worldwide in the CrossFit Open in 2017 and qualified for Regionals three times.

Here are five ladies that we would love to see in a Hybrid Fitness event:

Haley Adams

She took a break from competing in CrossFit for the 2023 season and we would love to see her try a HYROX in her time away from the sport. At the most recent CrossFit Games, she outclassed everyone in the long endurance events. Finishing first in “Bike to Work” and outrunning everyone at “The Capitol” event before getting slowed by the heavy sandbags.

Kristie (Eramo) O’Connell

Kristie came into CrossFit with a triathlon background and showcased her running abilities at numerous CrossFit Games. Most notably at the “Run Swim Run” event in 2017 she nearly beat every single Male competitor and placed second at “Event 10” in 2021 which was largely dependent on 3 miles of running.

Emily Rolfe

Emily had to withdraw from the 2022 Games due to a blood clot but was the winner of “Event 10” in 2021 as well as the “Ruck” event in 2019. More recently, she famously beat all of the women and many of the men in 2023 CROSSFIT GAMES “5K”. This coupled with her strength from CrossFit would make her dangerous in HYROX.

Kristin Holte

She qualified for the CrossFit Games from 2014-2021 and finished as high as 2nd in 2019. In that time she has placed well at nearly every endurance event including first at “Triple 3” in 2014 which was a 3000-meter Row into 300 Double Unders into a 3-mile Run. She also showed her power on the bike winning both “Cyclocross” in 2017 and “Crit” in 2018. After recently having a child, we would love to see her make a comeback to competition in Hybrid Fitness.

Sydney Wells

Sydney recently qualified for her first CrossFit Games She was a college track athlete with a PR of 55.94 in the 400m dash. She showed she has kept her speed at the most recent Semifinals where she finished first globally in Workout 5 which was 8 Snatches followed by an 800-meter run. If she has the endurance for an hour-long race her run background would make her a solid contender.
