Hyrox World Championship Elite 15 Women

The American women took over Machester at the HYROX World Championships taking places one through four. Many expected it to be a race between Meg Jacoby and Lauren Weeks and they were correct. It was a back-and-forth between the two until Lauren came into the Sled Pull in the lead. From there on she stayed strong on the run and never relinquished the lead. Meg made a late charge on the lunges but had to settle for silver.

Belle Macfarlane had perhaps the most surprising results of the day. She had the confidence to take the lead on the first run and quickly moved up from 6th to 1st after a blazing Sled Push. After a slight struggle on the Sled Pull, she made a big move on the Burpees and stayed in a podium position until the end.

Vivian Tafuto was the 4th American woman but had to fight for it. She passed two women on the final run and was able to hold off Viola Oberländer by three seconds for fourth place. Many expected Alandra Greenlee to be at the top as well but a mix-up on the sled pull put her at a disadvantage early. At press time, we are working out a penalty that may have been assessed.
