The HYROX World Championships are heading to the Windy City. More than 5 years since it hosted its first ever HYROX event in January 2020, Chicago has been chosen to host the biggest ever HYROX World Championships with over 10,000 athletes and fans expected.
The event will commence on Thursday 12 June 2025 and finish on Sunday 15 June 2025 although we expect many athletes will celebrate into the early hours of Monday morning at the famous World Championships afterparty.
The precise schedule for the event is still being finalised. However, HYROX has confirmed the races that we can look forward to.
ELITE 15 INDIVIDUAL RACE – The best 15 Pro Men and best 15 Pro Women race head-to-head to crown the 2024/25 Elite World Champion. Can last years Champs Megan Jacoby and Alex Roncevic repeat? Qualification via four Major Races and the Last Chance Qualifier.
ELITE 15 DOUBLES RACE – Brand New this Season, the best 15 Pro Doubles Men and Pro Doubles Women will race to be crowned the first ever Elite Doubles World Champions. Qualification via five open races scheduled across USA, Europe and Australia.
ELITE RELAY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – Returning for a second year, the Elite Relay closed the curtain last year with Team England narrowly beating Team USA and Team Germany in a thrilling race. Can Team USA taste success on home turf? Each Team will represent a HYROX nation and Qualification will again be via invite.
AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS – The finest individual and doubles competitors within will battle it out to be crowned the champion of their Age Group. These athletes have fought hard during the year to earn a coveted World Championship spot and the opportunity to test themselves against their peers. Qualification spots available at every HYROX event.

HYROX Announces Chicago as Host City for 2024/25 World Championships
World Championships return to US soil in June 2025 following meteoric global growth and sold out races across the USA.
Friday, September 27th, 2024 – Hamburg, Germany: Embargo 5PM CET HYROX, The World Series of Fitness Racing, has confirmed that its 2024/25 World Championships will take place in the United States at Chicago Navy Pier from June 12th-15th, 2025.
HYROX last hosted its World Championship in the U.S. in 2022 in Las Vegas, and following overwhelming demand, the event is set to return after two seasons in Europe (Manchester, UK and Nice, France). The sport’s popularity in the U.S. has skyrocketed, with many 2024 races selling out across the country.
HYROX has rapidly become the world’s fastest-growing fitness sport, with over 550,000 participantsexpected to race globally this year, including more than 80,000 athletes from the United States alone. The HYROX race format tests endurance and strength through a challenging – combination of 8 x 1KM runs, each followed by a functional workout. It’s the ultimate challenge for the modern athlete.
2024/25 World Championships Details:
The 2024/25 World Championships will span four days from the 12th – 15th June and is expected to draw over 10,000 athletes and fans to Chicago. The event will feature two major competitions split across the four days:
1. Elite 15 World Championships (Professional Racing)
2. Age Group World Championships
Both competitions require athletes to qualify during the regular HYROX season, with only the top 1% of global competitors earning the chance to compete at this elite level.
Elite 15 Races:
The Elite 15 races will see the top 15 Individual, Doubles and Relay Teams compete for the title ofHYROX Elite World Champion 2024/25. In the Individual division current champions Megan Jacoby(USA) and Alexander Roncevic (Austria) will defend their titles in a thrilling, live-broadcast race inside a custom-built race theater.
This year for the first time the Elite 15 Doubles World Championships will also take place bringing the fastest, most exciting form of HYROX to the sport’s biggest stage. In the Elite Relay World Championship invitational teams of 4 representing their countries will compete for national pride with key Elite 15 athletes named as country team captains and tasked with building the ultimate racing lineup.
Fans can watch both online and in-person as the world’s top fitness athletes battle for supremacy.

Age Group World Championships:
Throughout the weekend, the best individual and doubles teams in various age groups will face off for the title of Age Group World Champion 2024/25. These athletes will have proven themselves through their performances in regular-season events around the world.
