HYROX Bordeaux opens Friday with the Pro Men starting at 10:20 a.m. local time. The Pro Women follow at 1:00 p.m.

Alexander Roncevic is on the start list and brings the fastest time in fitness racing history. The former World Champion ran 51:59 at the Warsaw Elite race earlier this year.

He is joined by Charlie Botterill, Xavier Dufour, Jake Dearden, and George Martindale. All four have gone under 56 minutes, and Bordeaux has 11 men in the field with a best time under 57.

Botterill ran 54:04 at the World Championships, matching Tim Wenisch for third in the Elite 15. Dufour’s 54:26 came in Lisbon. Dearden ran 54:58 in Warsaw, while Martindale ran 55:25 at the same event.

Calypso Sheridan leads the women’s field with a 58:16 best, set at the World Championships in Stockholm, where she finished fourth in the Elite 15. Lea Sophie Pommerening is the only other woman in Bordeaux under 59 minutes. She ran 58:57 to win Istanbul in August.
