HYROX Elite Racing to Charge €100 for Points Transfers Linked to Registration Errors

HYROX Elite Racing has announced a new policy aimed at reducing registration errors that can affect athlete rankings and points allocation.

In a message sent to licensed athletes, Elite Racing Team representative Mat Lock said one of the most consistent issues seen throughout the season has been athletes registering for events with incorrect or inconsistent personal details.

Examples include variations in name spelling, incorrect dates of birth, and inconsistent nationality selections. Because each variation is treated as a separate athlete profile within the system, results and points can be assigned to different profiles rather than accumulating under a single athlete record.

According to Lock, these registration issues are a common reason athletes contact HYROX to ask why race results or points are not appearing correctly on the leaderboard.

“As we professionalise the sport, we need you to come with us,” Lock wrote. “And that starts with getting your registration details right, every time.”

Beginning with the 2026/27 season, licensed athletes who register with incorrect details and later request that points be transferred to their correct athlete profile will be charged €100 plus applicable tax.

Lock noted that the fee is intended to encourage athletes to verify their information before registering. He also stated that all funds collected through the transfer charge will be added to a charity fund that will be distributed publicly at the end of the year.

To avoid the fee, athletes are being asked to confirm the following information every time they register:

• Legal name
• Correct date of birth
• Correct nationality

The announcement also included guidance for athletes whose names are normally written in non-Latin scripts, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and other languages. Those athletes are asked to register using the Romanized version of their name exactly as it appears on their passport and to avoid using native characters, alternative transliterations, nicknames, or abbreviated versions.

While HYROX acknowledged that most athletes already provide accurate information when registering, the organization says the new policy is designed to reduce administrative work and improve the accuracy of athlete rankings as the sport continues to grow.

The policy will take effect beginning with the 2026/27 season.
