HYROX recently announced the qualifying structure for the 2023-2023 season. There will be six qualifying events before the World Championships. The first event in Chicago will be the “HYROX Major” taking place on November 11, 2023.
All times achieved in the calendar year 2023 will count as qualifiers. In addition, there are currently 12 races in which people can achieve a qualifying time on the schedule before Chicago. None of those events will be held in America. Here is where the qualifying picture currently stands for men.
Current Qualifiers for the first HYROX Major in Chicago by finishing at the World Championships or winning a regional championship:
- Hunter McIntyre
- Alexander Roncevic
- Tobias Lautwein
- David Magida
- Ryan Kent
All other spots will be based on the fastest times achieved by athletes in the 2023 calendar year. As it stands, the remaining spots would go to:
- Tim Wenisch- 56:07
- Joffrey Voisin- 56:46
- Jonathon Wynn- 56:58
- Graham Halliday- 57:35
- Florian Gast- 58:15
- Tom Hogan- 58:16
- Peter Schiller- 58:21
- James Kelly- 58:36
- Beau Wills- 58:37
- Michael Sandbach- 58:44
The next 5 athletes would be bubble athletes who could receive an invite if others choose not to attend:
- Alfons Deu Ruiz- 58:57
- Gabe Heck- 59:01
- Ruben Patino Vieites- 59:04
- Jannik Czapla- 59:05
- Rich Ryan- 59:11
If a male athlete wants a guaranteed place at the first Major they will need to run under 58:44.
