HYROX World Champs 2026 – Stockholm Sweden

The HYROX World Championships 2026 | Stockholm, Sweden

Sweden will host the seventh HYROX World Championships at The Strawberry Arena next year.

Within hours of the finish of the 2025 HYROX World Championships, HYROX released the venue for next year’s Championship.

We are unclear of the date, but we can anticipate early June if history holds up.

It’s going to be a huge year for the UK/European audience as they get to host the big race once again. The USA had it back in 2022, then Manchester, England, followed by Nice, France, before it came back to the US for Chicago in 2025.

The Majors and Regionals were announced the day before at a press conference, so this is what we know so far about the 2025/2026 Elite Season:

There will be four Majors: Phoenix, Melbourne, Warsaw, and Hamburg. The top three finishers at each Major will qualify for the World Championships.

Each Major will be followed by a Regional Championship: Washington DC for North America, London for Europe, and Brisbane for Asia-Pacific. Athletes must hold a passport from that region to be eligible, and only the winner will qualify for Worlds. There are no longer LCQ races.

Roll-downs will apply if needed. Entry into a Major is still based on the average of your best two HYROX times. Dates have not yet been released.

About the Venue:

Strawberry Arena, formerly known as Friends Arena, is located in Solna, just north of central Stockholm. It is the largest stadium in Scandinavia and serves as Sweden’s national stadium for men’s football.

The stadium features a retractable roof and can host a range of events year-round. It has a maximum concert capacity of 65,000 and can seat 50,000 for football. The venue is designed to scale down for smaller events as well, making it a flexible space for competitions like HYROX.

Originally opened in October 2012, the arena was known as Swedbank Arena before being renamed Friends Arena in 2012 and then Strawberry Arena in 2024. It was built on the site of the old Råsunda Stadium and has become a central hub for Swedish sports and entertainment.

Notable past events include the 2017 UEFA Europa League Final, the 2024 Taylor Swift Eras Tour (with a record attendance of over 60,000), and Sweden’s 4-2 win over England in 2012, when Zlatan Ibrahimović scored the first goal in the venue.

The arena is equipped with 92 executive suites, 647 LED screens, a central media cube, and a natural grass pitch. It is a UEFA Category 4 stadium and regularly hosts Sweden’s men’s national football team and AIK Fotboll.

With its history of hosting major sporting events, massive capacity, and retractable roof, Strawberry Arena is an ideal stage for the 2026 HYROX World Championships.
