HYROX Glasgow Scotland Major Results – Men

The elite men’s race in Glasgow was a thrilling spectacle, with a world record just one second out of reach and a dramatic fight for the final qualifying spots.

From the start, James Kelly, Tim Wenisch, Hunter McIntyre, and Michael Sandbach were all in the mix, each battling for the lead. The four athletes held strong in the front pack, with mere seconds separating them through the first three stations. After the burpees, James Kelly took control of the race and never looked back.

The Australian kept up his dominance throughout the second half, even lapping Wenisch and McIntyre on the runs. James crossed the line with a personal best of 53:23, missing the world record by just one second.

The race for the World Championship qualifiers was intense, with the three available spots in constant play throughout. USA’s Rich Ryan made his move into third place as he hit the lunges, holding steady through the wall balls to secure a podium finish and the first qualifying spot.

Beau Wills, Pelayo Menendez, and Jake Dearden were all neck and neck at the wall balls. With their qualifying spots already locked in, Wills and Menendez clinched 4th and 5th, respectively, while Jake Dearden secured 6th with an impressive 55:44, earning his ticket to the World Championships.

The race for the final spot was an epic showdown between Sean Noble and Tomas Tvrdik. Both athletes dove for the line in a dramatic finish, with Ireland’s Sean Noble—competing in his first-ever Elite 15 race—just edging out Tvrdik to claim the final spot and a place at the World Championships in Chicago this year.

Michael Sandbach 🇬🇧 and Jonathan Wynn 🇦🇺 started the race but both left the course prior to completing.

The top three athletes in each HYROX Major automatically qualify for the World Championships in Chicago this June. However, if any of the top three have already qualified in a previous Major, the spot rolls down to the next highest finisher. Here’s who has secured their spot so far:

There are 3 more spots available for the HYROX World Championship in Chicago. A last chance qualifer race in Barcelona, Spain on April 25th. Any man can sign up for it, and no qualification is needed. Finish in the top 3, and you are on to Worlds.
